Durden's Barber Shop in Augusta  Ga. was founded in 1957 by Morris Durden.   Durdens is a second generation no frills Shop.  We are old-School, but not Old fashioned.  We specilalize in hard to cut fades, flat-tops, tapers as well as long-cuts, layer cuts for men and women alike.  Our goal is to get to know every hair on your head and perfect the best haircut  for you.  After operating a Barber Shop business in Augusta Ga. for  70 years we must be doing something right.   

       What most people do not know, is the difference between clip joint franchises, and  Barber Shops. 

  In the Clip Joints, practically every employee is a licensed cosmetologist.  Rarely will you find licensed Barbers, in Augusta,  trained in the use of clippers, which are required with almost all short haircuts.  There are no  Barber instructors in beauty School to train beauticians, and all their training time is on long hair, color, make-up and so on.  Virtually no training in short hair.  

  Here at Durden's,  we pride ourselves in our unique skills of cutting hair the Old-fashioned way.  Correctly!

   Consistency is a huge area we concentrate on.  The biggest problem I hear about the clip joints is lack of consistency, mainly due to the fact you get a different  beautician every time you return. 

  We also use a vacuum clipper which limits hair getting on the customer and makes for a better haircut.

  We also offer straight razor shaving around the ears and neck by request.  There is a difference in Barbers and Cosmetologists.
